Making Sure Your Move Goes Smoothly
What happens after the sold sign is up? That doesn’t mean my work is finished.
As your real estate agent, I’ll work closely with you to ensure the deal is finalized and that your move goes smoothly. For example I’ll coordinate with you and the buyer’s agent to ensure that all the conditions in the offer are satisfied within the time limits, and deal with any problems that may arise.
I’ll also be there for you up to the day you move and beyond. I can recommend lawyers, contractors, movers, etc. from my network of reputable professionals and companies. I’ll also clearly explain what to expect leading up to closing day and give you advice as to how to prepare.
There will be some phone calls to set up your new home or cancel on your old home. Here are some usual calls to make;
- heat
- hydro
- water and sewer
- insurance
- tax payments
- internet/cable/satellite/home phone
- arrange a mover ( I have a great one to recommend!) Dons moving 613-354-DONs)
- make an appointment to be made to meet your lawyer a few days before closing.
There are a myriad of other things I’ll do to ensure other details go smoothly. I deal with many reputable professionals and companies that can help you and can recommend a lawyer, home inspector, septic or well professional, insurance agent, moving company, whatever you need. I will liaise with the seller’s agent, your lawyer, and your mortgage lender to ensure everything goes smoothly, right up to the last step we do together – preparing for the final viewing of your home right before closing to make sure everything is ready for your buyers.
